Fight conformity. Stand out in a crowd. Just say NO to "Old Yeller Paint". Select a chartreuse or a mocha for the machine. Or go with a motif of daisys and lilacs! The world is your canvas! Beautify it as best you can!

Dupont (many auto parts stores) can duplicate pre-'92 JD yellow, but it costs more than JD. If you could find a cheaper paint, would you use it? After all the work in stripping down the machine and prep work, I know I wouldn't be pleased when the paint peeled off in three years. I expect to paint my machine once, so what's a few bucks more. Up in Maine JD goes for about $50, and it's good paint.

Yeah i hear you on that ...But when you see engine paint for $3.99 a Spray can at the auto store verses jd yellow at $8.99 a can from the dealer ...Makes ya wonder....The gallon is $50.00 here in North Carolina from JD also But they were out of the gallon. So i bought me some yellow engine paint at auto zone and used the Jd yellow for the final coat...willl se what happens from here Wing

Check out the Tractor and Implement paint at Carquest. I used the 14-267G...School Bus Yellow a couple years ago to paint some parts on a 1965 JD 1010 dozer and it matched fine. Not positive the dozer was painted prior with JD paint. Good luck, Bud.

Wow. I just looked, and it is nearly $50 for a gallon at Deere? Though the only other source that I know is MARTIN-SEYMOUR acrylic enamel, number 99L-8804, which I doubt is any cheaper. I'm not exactly sure if this is the same shade, or even a valid number anymore, you would probably want to double check! If anyone knows of a source for this paint color, I'd like to know too! I've tried to figure out the various paint colors and sources for industrial Deeres on this webpage: Link So far, not much luck. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it! Brandon

Prolly a stupid question, but, have you checked Tractor Supply? TSC has a bunch of paint and dont go by the color on the cap of the spray cans. The MM gold comes out nothing like the orange on the cap. It depends on how much you want to spend, is your machine gonna get used a bunch or sit, show machine? I cant believe someone hasnt narrowed down the colors on these. JD is way more popular than MM, but I've found numbers from Dupont and others on the internet for all the MM's. I'm looking at a 1010c to restore. Thats why this caught my eye.
