I am writing on behalf of an elderly friend who owns an old Catapillar tractor. He is 84 and enjoys using his old tractor to disc his land, and my friend and I were hoping he could do some work for us as well. Problem is, the transmission has a leak, and the one repairman in our area who could fix it has been putting this job off for months! He doesn't seem to want the job! So, I was wondering if through word of mouth we could find someone else who would be willing to travel a bit to come help this fellow out. I'm not sure how old the tractor is, but it must be at least 40-50 years old. I'd have to get specifics from him. I seem to recall something about "D10" or something. Anyway, we live in San Mateo county, California. Any help would be so appreciated!

If what your friend has is a Caterpillar 10 I would like a shot at purchasing it. I live and work in Salinas, California and am well within driving distance. Thanks

I thought I had added this, but I checked and the tractor is a D2. I have pictures posted at the link below

It may be a Caterpillar 10 or an Allischalmers HD10 But the D10 caterpillar is a newer machine. Where are you located and what are the specifics?
