Just bought a 1979 Case 450B loader non-running and have many questions for the experts. I spent all day yesterday with a washer getting out some of 25 years of grease, grime, and muck so I could tell where most of the parts are. My goal is to spend as little as necessary to get me by in the short term and then begin replacing parts as I can afford to. Here are first questions: 1) Where is best place to get manual? I found them but they are about $320. Anybody have a used one they want to sell? 2) One of the nuts that holds the injector line to the injector is split. Any way to hobble this? Or can I replace fairly inexpensive? 3) I put battery in and get no repsonse at all on any gauges. I have 12v at starter, but turning key does nothing. I cleaned out 2 mice nest behind dash but cannot pull out far enough to tell if there are fuses. I assume I will have to disconnect pressure lines to pull dash out further? Any tips on what to look for? 4) Where can I get track adjusters, seal kits, sprockets, rollers, etc. at best price? It needs entire U/C, but I intend to only do adjusters and sprockets right now. Original owner boogered it all up by welding spacers on the rails so I might spend all week grinding this off. Thanks in advance for the reponses. David in SC

I have the used manual you are looking for and many others for any Case equipment. Email me for details. It will cost $230 and is in excellant condition and is an original Case service manual, not a reproduction or copy. Thanks, Mike

no. 1 go to ebay no.2 just buy a new line with the nuts on they are under VERY HIGH pressure. no. 3 the key will NOT start the engine it has a starter button that is hid under the short shift levers between your legs put both levers in nutral and there is a little lock you lift up and the button is in the front of the tower no. 4 any co. like berco that makes after market parts as for parts to fix adjuster that is most of the time a wast of time trying to fix they are most of the time rusted real bad and a new seal will not help. use a after market replacement yoke about 300.00

Thanks Marlowe for chiming in. I was hoping to hear from you as you seem to have a great deal of knowledge on Case machines. I went and found the start button. Thanks. I will get the injector lines on order soon. I see no engine serial number. I know it is a 207. Is there any other info I need to know? I assume I will be rebuilding the engine soon. I intend to try to crank soon, but I do not have high expectations. The local Case dealer handles Berco parts. I suppose I will go ahead and establish a relationship with them. I am sure I will be posting more soon. Thanks much for what you have already shared. David in SC
