Hi - I sure appreciate the advice from everyone on how to locate parts for my dozer... I was just wondering if anyone had comments on the differences in price and/or quality regarding JD parts vs Berco vs Trek for the drive chain rails. Or things to watch out for when purchasing them... What are indicators the pads need to be replaced?? Thanks for any advice, Howard

I am just finishing up a complete rebuild on a 350B. I purchased most of the track work from Berco. Believe it or not, Berco is now producing track for Deere and Cat. I bought upper roller shafts from Deere and they came with "Made in Italy" on them. I wound up sending them back as the new "Berco" rollers came complete with the shafts and seals unlike the Deere units for twice the cost.

howard, oem track parts are the best, no doubt. if you are gonna use the machine hard, or every day, and want the longest lasting parts, thats the way to go. i have used berco parts quite a bit, but for machines that dont see hard, continuous use. theyre completely trustworthy as far as fit, but i'd suggest making sure of your link count before ordering, they once insisted i had 33 instead of 31 links on a machine i reworked. as far as the pads go, if you're wearing the bolt heads, you need em, or you will have to build your grousers back up. make sure you get the right pads for the work you're gonna do, i generally use double grousers in stone, singles in dirt. i have a loader with the original street shoes on it, and its worthless on stone. good luck, jim
