Just up the road is a really big yellow dozer for sale. The guy I called about it said it's a model 421, weighs in around 68,000 pounds. It really is big -- stands nearly as tall as the house it's parked by. Obviously way too big for anything I could do with it, but I wanted to get some input if anyone here knows what it might be. I haven't been able to get close enough to see the manufacturer on it, and was just curious. The price is not too high, either. Around $12,000. Near Castle Rock, CO

I've got one parked near me that's as big as a damn house. It's a Fiat, seems to be an upgraded version of the Allis Chalmers HD-41. Weighs 106,000 lbs and has a 30' blade. I know when AC made in the early 70s, it was the large dozer in the world.

It was aimed at the big open pit mines market for removing overburden. Purchased by coal mine, gypsum mines, copper mines, etc. I was working for the Industrial Division of AC when it came out; it caused quite a stir just by it's size, but for practicality, well, the market decided that.
