Anybody ever seen a database or list that shows dimensions for the bottom track rollers on differenct crawlers? I'm presently looking for rollers for my Allis Chalmers HD4, but for all I know - there might be other type rollers that are more common that could be adapted. I've had this problem with other crawlers, and for some, parts are getting scarce. My HD4 has track chains that are approx. 4 3/4" wide and total width of the roller shell is 6 1/2". I looked at my Deere 1010 and its chains are 4 1/4" wide and the roller shells total widths 5 1/2". My Allis HD6 has chains 5 1/2" wide, and my Cletrac HG has chains 4" wide. So, at least with the crawlers I have, nothing would be interchangible.

You can try your local CAT dealer. CAT has or at least had an interchange guide telling all the different equipment that had component interchanges with their undercarriages. If you happen to find a set to fit with smaller diameter mounting holes than your bolt size the mounting holes can be drilled oversize. Also if you find a set with larger diameter mounting holes than your bolt diameter you can bush the holes down to the correct size withoug any major problems. In that case all you would need to do is make sure the bushing was at least an interferrence fit in the hole so it was tight and then use a heavy flat washer under the head of the bolt that has larger than the diameter of the origional hole.

A database would be a wonderful....I think a lot of money has needlessly been spent on U/C because of a lack of good information/specs.
I wonder if you try looking at Fiat/Massey rollers, although a lot of that stuff is hard to get now.Good luck.

Jim, I think it would be best to stick to rollers that are easily available. John Deere,Case,Cat and some Internationals like TD&,TD*'s the rest will soon be all gone, as even in the last year some roller have been used up and they are not making anymore in the near future, same as some of the chains&grousers. There is just about nothing now for MF's 200,300,400's and only reason 500 stuff is around is because it is Cat D5 undercarriage.

George Miller might can repair your old rollers. gmmachine@aaahawk.com He did some work for me on a manifold and over the phone he said he had a metal spray equipment to build up worn track rollers.

We have found some replacemant rollers for some machines. The 350 Case roller works for the small Olivers and some small Internationals . The mounting must be modified. But have not looked at HD4's yet as they are still available although almost all gone. International T6,TD6 is another machine we have not found anything that would work and they are all gone. Will have to see if anything is close on the HD4

I wish now I had measured up the components on all the crawlers I've worked on, and created a database. I worked as a Deere mechanic for a long time, but we also worked on all kinds of other machines. We had two track presses and did a lot of undercarriage work. When I first was working on these crawlers (in the 60s), getting parts was not a problem. Seems things are changing. I only know what a Deere 1010/350 roller measures because I have a 1010. Seems the 450 series were bigger. Anyway, back to the HD4. The guy from Crawler Heaven told me he can get some Bercos, but I'm waiting to see if he has any used rollers. His stuff is probably still under the same snow mine is. I was kind off shocked when I spoke to an AC industrial dealer. They sell new rollers, but I was told they don't fit without heavy modification, including getting rid of all the guards - and the new rollers that don't fit are $350 apiece! I could almost buy another crawler for the price of ten rollers. I'm sure I could make any roller fit - just like it seems AC is doing (or AGCO, Fiat, or whatever they call themselves now) - as long as the roller shell matches the track-chain width and the track frame is wide enough for mounting. Any ideas or help appreciated. I wish owners of other makes of crawlers would send in their measurements.

For general info, I am just completing a complete undercarriage replacement on a Deere 350B. I went to Berco for the parts. The idlers and the upper roller are still grease but the only available bottom rollers are sealed oil type found in the later models, they ran about $110.00 each. They fit "except" the four mounting holes are larger and the flanges thicker. If you use the existing 1/2" bolts, the rollers could and would eventually work loose. I checked with my guys at Deere, the later models use 9/16" bolts that are 1/4" longer. This means you have to drill and tap out 40 holes in the tack frames to do the job right. Also 9/16" X 18 grade 8 bolts are not common. They run about $80.00 per 25. If anyone needs some good used parts, I have 3-4 good bottom grease type rollers, a pair of fair idlers and a pair of 80% rear sprockets left over.

HINT: 9/16 hole in new rollers, cut 1/2" ID copper tubing to make inserts for the flang holes.
Please use new bolts with flat part of shank long enough so as threads on bolts are not in contact with the flange. never sieze agent or grease on threads.

I have a friend that is a BERCO dealer and he said he supplies bushings that are used when new rollers are put on older machines and they seem to work no complaints yet

JD 350 and JD 440 U/C rollers interchange and the replacement drive sprocket rings work , chains and pads too. Also , not sure, but think the top idlers will interchange too.
