Is anyone able to advise me as to whether the tracks from a 951b (trac loader) interchange with a 955l (track loader). Apparently the 955l (my machine) uses d6c track gear. Does any one know if the 951b has the same gear underneath (and rollers etc)

Hello John. 951B&C have a D5 undercarriage. The early series 951B has a old D6 undercarriage. The 955L also has a series split, old is a D5 undercarriage, newer is the D6C bottom. Difference between D5 & D6 the pitch is the same the size of the bushing is larger on the D5.
The D5 is completly smaller than the D6C pitch, pin&bushing, rail width etc.
Contact M&R Track Service in WI phone 1-800-564-0383 new, used, rebuilt undercarriage parts. tell them Troy sent you!

Thanks very much for your lucid and thoughtful comments Troy. You have answered my question fully and succinctly. Sadly, I am 10,000 miles from WI (in Australia), and parts are far fewer here than over there (s/hand that is).

Thanks also Jeff, I will try and rat out those interchange lists.

No, I do not know if they interchange, but in a previous post on JD 350's someone had mentioned that CAT has an interchange crossreference for U/C.

Happy Tracking,

Jeff
