I know someone selling a 1988 John Deere 310C with EROPS backend, allrebushed and sealed, one owner machine. I'm trying to talk him into putting it on ebay as I have been watching what they bring. It may do more then what he wants for it. Email me if you're interested

I can speak for the 310D. They are good machines...loook for the usual with anything...worn pins etc...worn slides in the extendible if it has that.....check out the reverser...shouldnt feel like its slipping...they have a torque convertor, but still shouldnt feel like its slipping. Smell the reverser oil to see if it smells burnt. Not a common problem but you can "smell" when theres a problem...check the park brake...earlier 310D's had the old mechanically activated linkage installed with a spring applied brake canister. They were prone to linkage breakage. You have to drop the transaxle assembly to repair/replace the broken park brake parts...not a huge cost in parts, but labor intensive..If its 4 wheel drive, lift up the rear on the stabilizers and with the 4x4 switch engaged, see if the front wheels pull. check front axle pivot and king pins...especially costly if its 4x4 and king pins are worn into axle housing...

Jonathan- thanks for the advice. I've had a case before but I am curious about deere's. you see more and more of them around my area and they seem put together pretty well.
