Just wanted to thank george md, Ed, marlowe, Wilson, monty, and Danny.

This is in reference to "won't go into gear, driveshaft not spinning."

George, you were correct in telling my cousin Doug and myself that the problem was the fiber coupler ring. When Doug dropped out the torque converter, the pieces of this ring fell out. A new ring from Case cost him $205. The ring has teeth (like a flex plate or flywheel)on the outside circumference and unlike a flywhee, it also has teeth along the inside circuference.

Doug installed the new fiber coupler ring and his dozer is back and running, going into gear and shifting fine.

Curious about how much his 1965 Case 450 crawler with 6-way blade and rear winch weighs?

Thank you,

Bob Bauer

Bob ,

Glad you are up and running. Without looking in a book , I think that tractor should weigh about 10,000 lbs plus the winch , another 1000 or there abouts.

george
