Clear Cutting method

I have about 50 acres that consists of a few stands of young pine trees, but is mostly just brush and trash trees. The area is has several dry gullies and a few areas where water stands several times within the year.
I have a JD 450C 2-way blade dozer.
Question: To clear this area for a new pasture, except for the few stands of pines, should I doze the brush and trash trees and burn the stumps? I don't have a root rake on the dozer and can't afford one at this time.

Plan to do pretty much the same thing up here in ME. Bought an old Kelly #56 backhoe to put on the back of my 4020, dig a hole next to the stumps, dig out the stump and push it over into the hole. I expect to cut and chip the small stuff (they said I needed exercise), keep it mowed and let the rest of the roots rot.

I wish I lived in a state that I could do any thing I wanted to on my own land.

The best way to pile brush is to start a few small piles on fire then keep pushing brush on them.Without a brush rake you will get alot of dirt in your piles. After the piles are out you can go back and spread the dirt piles. Some people prefer to let the brush piles set for a year to dry out and burn cleaner however you will need to make many more piles and still will need to come back and spread the dirt.
