Is it possible to remove the tracks from a 440 by releasing the hydraulic track adjusters and not removing a pin from the tracks. I need to remove the drive sprocket and my machine does not have a master link in the tracks.

Terry how do you handle a 300# necklace? There is no cheat. Look harder there is a master pin. If its an orginal flush style track they all are master pins. Split the track the right way and you may keep all your fingers!

It should be possible; I used to do it often by accident with my 420. Loosen the tension, get on some heavy sod, and make a gradual turn without stopping the track. If you don't have grouser pads and this doesn't work try running the outside edge of the track over a lengthways 2x6 beam. E-mail me if you want to know how to get it back on.
