This spring, I had a stuck right steering clutch. Got it unstuck but am now having problems with the brake stopping the track. I adjusted by the book about as much as I can adjust it. Brake pedal goes almost all the way to the floor. If, while trying to turn, I continue to work the brake it will usually catch but I don't have the same problem with the left brake. Wher do I go from here? Is this a brake band problem?

To Doug:It does'nt sound like the lining of the brake band itself. But probably the inner clutch disks and spacers of the steering clutch itself. On an HD6 American made these clutches are big and heavy and I would recommend a engine hoist to lift one out if need be.Starting about SN14500 the clutch housings had vent/drain cap screws at the base of the clutch housing, for drain and drying out of the steering clutch. If the fiber clutch disks got wet with oil or water from the tractors nonuse or siting out in the weather you might have to overhall the steering clutch.Big Job''.Hope this helps you S.J.D.
