I need something small to use around my ponds & to clean trash between larger trees. My 4500 TBL is just to long and awkward. Finding a small dozer
in any condition around here is impossible, so Im
looking for a skid steer I can put tracks on. Question is, are tracks universal or do they only
fix certain models ? If so which skid steer would
you reccommend buying for this purpose?

The tracks are not universal. They are made to fit a specific make or model depending on wheelbase, tire size and application. If you go this route, look for one of the larger, heavier machines, that are tough enough to stand the exta strain the tracks put on the machine.Tracks on a lighter machine usually result in leaking seals, bad bearings, broken axles and drive chains.Which machine will depend on your budget, but you are still in the $7500-8000+ range, considering the price of the machine and a set of tracks which run upwards of $1000 for a decent set.
