while pushing trees yesterday one got into the fan and bent a blade which in turn hit the crank pulley and cut the fan belt.I straightend the fan but installing a new belt looks like a hell of a job. This machine has the hydraluic pump on the front which runs off the crank. Is the shaft split, solid, bolted flange on each end or what.I thought about putting one of the link type belts on but they told me they where for industrial use and the side angle is wrong. The acmoc site has been down so i figger id try this. Thanks

I've got two crawlers and one hoe with the link-belts on them, and they've held up fine.

My belt is one inch wide at top and 3/4 down in the groove. Are any of youre belts this wide? One place i went to said they could order a 7/8 wide link belt but could only get it in 25 foot length and it would be over $300 dollars. Thanks for any help.

There are many industrial supply places that sell it and I haven't shopped around that much. I just looked at one place, and they show a 7/8" wide link belt for ten bucks a foot. That's at :>Link

Another place offers the following description but I haven't checked their prices (from>Link

I looked in the mcmaster carr book at work and seen that they sell it by the foot so I think ill try it even though other books say it is not for automotive type use. Thanks a bunch for the help.

If anyway possible, Try to put an extra belt behind the pulley and tie it back, So if you have the belt go bad, it is a lot easier to cut the ties and install the new belt instead of pulling the pump again. I did on a Case 580D backhoe and it worked great. Good luck!!
