350 Starter Solenoid

We were up and running for awhile after a complete reversor rebuild....Ran dozer for a day went to start next day ....woouldnt start.Pulled starter ....tested it..... needs new solenoid.Question being ...Is there a automotive solenoid that will replace the one thats bad or is this a nother Deere item.Starter is a delco.#1107863-7 for a diesel.

You can probably buy it from Deere cheaper than anywhere else.

Got one at auto zone 12 bucks....Id be really suprised if it was cheaper from Deere.

I forgot to mention that the only difference between the gas and diesel solenoid on your Delco starter is the big return spring - the rest is the same. That's why your solenoid has an "r" terminal on it which is meant to be used as an ignition-resistor bypass on gas engines.

Same solenoid on an older V-8 Chevy starter, it's a very common one. Also, you can usually pull the cap off and reverse the contacts instead of replacing it.

Thanks Again JDE i thought it looked pretty common.....I already did Try to reverse the contacts but the copper winding wire broke off the terminal.....Off to autozone today.
