JDE you did mention to replace the complete assembly and use the newest setup with the hard rubber disc...Iam ready to take the plung after removing my existing setup it show alot of wear (clutch shoe lining gone, bolts had worn grooves)Im not to hip on having that setup anyway who knows sometime down the line they might come loose and jack the whole shaft up,im gonna pay now instead of later....Can the same flywheel be used?...How does the rubber disc work...Does it set on the inside of the flywheel??..Or if i can find a 1010 setup does the same flywheel work that i have for the five spring setup...Thanks

Wing

I don't know about using the 1010 and early 350 setup (with the spring loaded disk). I assume it uses a different flywheel, but I've never swapped parts between the different series. On the same note, I've never installed the later setup (from a 350D and on) into a 350C. 99% percent of my Deere mechanical experience is from working as a Deere mechanic at at dealership where innovation and parts swapping did not exist to a high level. We generally had to do things the way Deere recommended. But . . . I will say that I did not witness any failures with the newer isolators. With the old first style as used in 1010s and the first 350s I never saw one fail either. They'd get loose and noisy after a while but would not lock your engine up. In regard to the new isolators that came out with the 350Ds, and I guess were in the 400Gs when we went out of business - I never had one fail, so never had to pull one apart. I was recently reading that when Deere does their "certified relife" to older 350s, like yours, they install the later isolator. But with that deal, which can cost around $60,000, I guess money is no object. Can you imagine spending $60,000 to have your crawler refurbished? I think we were selling them brand new for around $30K, but maybe my memory is off. So . . . I guess I didn't fully answer your question. But . . . I've never done the swap, just know if CAN be done. Only Deere crawler I have is 1010, so I guess I won't have to find out.
I'm not sure though, if my spring-loaded plate failed in my 1010, if it can even be bought anymore. Here's the parts list of what John Deere will put into your crawler for $60,000!
