Many thanks to all of you that offered advice on how to help me get this old tired machine running. Putting in 4 new injectors finally did the trick. It smokes like a burning tire, so I have to stay on the lookout for the fire department, but I have only run it a little bit. It spits and sputters and ain't real smooth, but I only ran it about 15 seconds and then changed the 5+ year old oil and filter. I then ran another 2-3 minutes and she still runs rough and I was not sure if the thermostat is OK so I shut her down. I intend to check all valve clearances using the methods in the manual before I condemn the engine as too tired to run. Seems to be alot of slop and inconsistencies under the valve cover. I need to change tranny and hydraulic fluid and filters before I run any more or see if she will move. I assume this is a good idea, correct, as I do not want to overheat or burn up any of the drive components. Oil pressure was on high side, good, converter pressure was in green, converter temp or engine temp never moved, probably did not run long enough. Now I have several hoses to replace, 3 cylinders to build, hole in radiator to fix, hydraulic control valve spool leak to repair, drive shaft seal to replace, etc. The list goes on and on. I am pleased, though that she did run. And that I got it running without having to spend too much money.

Thanks to all of you for your help.
