Hi, Farm Manager. Would a Cat 24H be any use to you? 500 HP, 24 foot blade and about 48 tons. LOL. Two that come to mind quickly are the Galion 503 and the Allis Chalmers D (gas) or DD (diesel). Not a lot to choose between the two - both around 8 tons, 18,000#, similar power, both fairly reliable. These also came equipped with a scarifier for loosening up tighter materials, scarifying harder surfaces before adding pavemant material to help it stick and for aiding in mixing. No doubt there are others of similar size and style, especially over your way. (I'm DownUnder.) There also used to be a machine called the 'Road Runner' which was about three to four tons. Seemed to work well but I have not seen one or heard of one for 'yonks' (DownUnder-ism meaning a LONG time.) If you need something even smaller, Melroe Bobcat made an attachment for some of their machines that apparently worked fairly well in tight spaces. They were a pin-on fit in place of the bucket, plus the hydraulic connections, with a castor wheel at the front to allow the Bobcat skid-steer to work. These would have the advantage of the normal Bobcat bucket for extra versatility. Also, there are many 3 pt linkage tractor mounted graders on the market that do quite a good job, especially in the hands of a GOOD operator. Take a bit of time to look around before you choose to go this way though because there are attachments and ATTACHMENTS with widely varying levels of capability. Hope this helps. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
