Looking at a Model M crawler and see that the oil pan where the starter goes is broken and the the whole piece is missing along with the starter. I guess the previous owner pull started it. Anybody know where I can find a starter, and either a good oil pan or a bad oil pan with that part intact. I might be able to have it welded up. Thanks

A lot of the A/C model m's did not have a starter, they were crank started. All of the m's had a place for a starter and they had ring gears. They are a 318 cubic inch engine, however they started real easy using the hand crank.

Are you talking about an Allis Chalmers Model M or John Deere???? Sounds like its an AC M from what you've said.

Randy,

I would start with Lavoy Wilcox at www.jdcrawlers.com. He's fair and honest and has a lot of stuff. If Lavoy can't help, there are some others you might try, just post back.

Try Larry Swenson at 507-787-2338. He has a lot of used AC parts.
