Yep another question..
The fuel pump on this engine does put out fuel.
But it doesn't appear to be a very strong PSI .
The pressure does seem to increase when you spin the motor over faster.
I bled the lines and seems to have plenty of fuel to do that.
I took the fuel pump off the engine, took the fork off the fuel pump and put a 1800 rpm drill motor on the drive dog of the pump, bled each fitting up to the ejectors. I also check the return line to the tank. seems ok fuel flow but not overly heavy volume.

The fuel pump is not high pressure but how much is to little???

Thanks again
Scott

the engine is suppose to have a restricted fitting in the return line, it screws into the head. this provides the correct "rail pressure" to the injectors. dont know the proper pressure for the 2-53 but the detroit house should know what the correct fitting will be. as long as the seals in the pump dont suck air, the correct fitting is in place and there isnt any restrictions between the fuel tank and the pump, the fuel pressure will be right. good luck, david

All that pump has to do is supply fuel in enough volume to keep the injectors charged at full rack, and any excess is returned to the tank. Probably 5-7 psi is good enough as long as it moves a sufficient volume. What problem are you having?
