Is there any special procedure for replacing the fuel filter on this Backhoe? Do I have to bleed the air out of the filter after I change it?

Also one connection from the injector pump to the injector line on number 2 cyclinder is leaking at the pump. Is there a gasket or o-ring I can replace? If I change it how do I bleed the line of air after.

Thanks
John

Try to make sure the filter is as full of fuel as possible after changing it. There should be a hand-primer on the fuel pump to help. Open the bleeder on the fuel filter housing, and pump until full. The injection system on that tractor does NOT have to be bled - it can bleed itself but you might burn up your starter or kill your battery first. So, it's much better to get all the air out you can. The injection lines have steel circular gaskets where the lines bolt to the pump via the banjo washers. There are NO gaskets where the lines couple with the injectors.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I found the steel gaskets at the local JD Ag dealer after looking them up on line at JD Parts. It must be a common injector pump.

Thanks
John
