Hi,am hoping someone can help
I have a 1979 1-3500 IH backhoe with an autobox ( ie left pedal back, right pedal forward)
Problem:It will travel backwards but pretty slow and will barely go forwards at all and gets worse when it warms up a bit (wont go forward at all) I am trying to locate manual for it to check oil level specs etc but am hoping someone out there could give some advice/suggestions as to what is wrong?
Thanks
Mike

Hi
Thanks for that info.Is the filter the canister at the side of the transmission and do you know how i check the oil level, there is two filling screw plugs on the top but no side filler or dipstick etc.Does it take hydraulic oil?
I have found a reinforced rubber pipe underneath that joins two steel pipes with hose clips next to the transmission but dont look too good, not sure if it relevant to transmission and has leaked oil out etc
Any advice would be great
Thanks
Regards
Mike

Your "autobox" is actually hydrostatic drive. Start by changing the hydraulic filter which may cure your problem. If that doesn't help, it could be several things.
