It lives again,
Got this thing running last night, ran it a couple times for about 20 seconds.
What a big difference a new fuel pump and restrictor fitting made.
Seems to purrrrr rr But No oil pressure yet.
Will have to track it down this weekend. Lines may be plugged.
The one thing I did notice is, there was no oil being sent up to the head.
I had the valve cover off and not a hint of oil being sent up there.
So where does the oil suppose to come through, to lube up there?
Is it just like a car motor?? or does it just spray the whole area above?
I assume that there should be oil up there.
Just wondering where it come out of up there…
Thanks to all
scott

I called the Detroit shop this morning I told them about the no oil issue, he said that if the oil pump plate has rivets holding it in place it could be in backwards and is blowing instead of sucking.
But I told him there are about 4 or 5 bolts that hold this on to the housing; he said there were two types. The bolt on type you cannot get on backwards. So that pretty much blows that theory.

He did mention that the oil will come up through the cam. And I definitely don't have any there.
He said that there are grommets that go into the block, before you put the head back on.
I said there was, I put them in.
But he said there were white ones, and black ones, the white were for the water passages and the black were the oil passages.
I may have them in the wrong holes. But you would think that the oil would still come up through, If its suppose to.

1.Which ones are oil holes???
2. How many are oil holes?
3. What locations are they??

On the dummy cam side of block (I believe) opposite the blower, there as you look at the head with the valve cover off, there are what looks like return oil drains that that go through the head, in the corners. There is a small area that is not in contact with the block in this area there is a place for a grommet, or you could say its counter sunk for one. I put one in there but knew there was no contact with the head surface. So I am wondering if these are for sure, an oil return holes. I think there are two one in each corner.
4. Does anybody know?

5. I am wondering if there is anyway to prime the lube system without using the oil pump?? 6. Or feel suction from the oil pump when the motor turns over?????

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the help scott
