So how does the hydraulic cylinder come
off the Case 350/310 dozers. I took out
the two 3/8-3" lg (or so)bolt and that big
short one from that large dia. rotary casting.
I thought that would do it. I afraid to use
a large pry bar if that's not how they come
off. Any of you every had to take the cyl.
off a Case dozer? Mine is a '74 350 S/N 3055441 crawler.

Winddancer,
I also own a 350 case, when I saw your serial# it sounded familiar, so I checked mine. Our machines are only a few #'s apart, probley built on the same day by the same people, pretty cool,

The 3/8 x 3 bolts you have taken out hold in the cyl. mount pins. You will have to pull these but be very sure you have no pressure on the cyl. I remove the rod end first and retract the cyl. with the lift lever, tie or wire the rod so it can not extend, then remove the lines. Then pull the mounting pins (2). I made a little slide hammer that I can screw into the pins and pull them out. I have also made a puller with allthread, washers and a short pipe (I D of pipe must be larger than the pin). Good luck.
