I have a Case 480c backhoe with a 188 engine, and was using it this weekend and the oil light came on. I let it set for 10 min and then the oil pressure was fine. The oil is up to the full line. I installed a gauge on it and has 35 psi at operating rpm and temp . I then change the oil / filter and checked it again and still at 35 psi. The operators manual that said it shoud be between 50 and 70 psi. It runs like a top lots of power. Has anybody had this problem and what is the fix, is it the oil pump relef spring getting weak, Any info would be great. thanks.

My guess is your warning light had a temporary fart and you've had 35 lb's of pressure for awhile if it's a well used machine. I wouldnt worry about 35 lbs of oil pressure inless it was a sudden loss, say like going from 50 down to 35 over a short period of time.
