Found this (1959 - approximately) D7-17A that I am interested in buying. Engine doesn't smoke, pony starts and runs good, track seems to be 50% .... good pads, pins and bushings turned, sprockets decent, very good tight blade, belly pans, even has a nice original seat. Overall looks like the machine might work 500 - 1000 hours without anything needing done. What is a typical price for one of these that seems to need not work to use? Thanks guys.

The price would depend if you were buying or selling - my stuff is always worth more than your stuff! haha Seriously, this sounds like a pretty decent machine. Is it a cable dozer? I would say if you could buy it in the $5000-6000 range, you would be safe. Any less and it would be a really good deal. I tend to want to under-price things a little - I don't know if I'm just cheap, or if I'm just a little leary of buying someone else's problems. Maybe a little of both. It just depends on what you are going to do with the machine. Sounds like a dandy. Good luck!

That is about the price. He wanted $6500 and I offerred $5000. After neogiation we settled at $5750. He honestly doesn't have time to use it so he is just selling it. He bought it 3 years ago and hasn't put probably 100 hours on it. He said he paid $9000 3 years ago from a dealer. Of course it has electric pony start. But just out of the blue he thought he would trying cranking it and the pony started right up. Thanks
