Ever since I rebuilt the engine on my Case 850D my torque converter temperature guage goes up to red after about 3 hours of running.I've changed trans oil and filter, cleaned oil cooler, even removed thermostat in oil cooling circuit but nothing seems to work.Am I due for a new torque converter or am I missing something?

It was ok b4? Did you have engine, rad, cooler out/unhooked? cooler lines not plugged,if they were apart? Not kinked or smashed accidently? Thinking about a common thread b4/after & the work done.

James, I don't know much about your tractor but I do know this. Most of the trans pump flow has to go through the converter to keep it cool. You might be best to get some specs and then pressure test you trans. It could be a worn pump or a leak somewhere inside. Does the trans respond to shifts good or lag going into gear. Were is this thermostat you speak about? In the cooler lines? I have seen similar devices in cooler lines that let cold oil bypass the cooler, the failure of them or their removel will cause overheating because little oil goes through the cooler.
