jd450 Just sprockets?

My jd450 loader has about two inches of adjustment left on the rail. The pins show some wear but not a lot. All the plates seem to be in good condition. I have not done all the track measurements cause I don't have the guages.

QUESTION: Since the sprocket points are worn to razor sharp points, would I be wise to replace only the sprockets? If so how much will I expect to pay for them? This is a plain 450 with 36 plantes/pins.

You can replace the sprockets to finish running off your old bottom. The only problem would be the amount of internal wear in the pins.If the pins are worn, the length between links increases and may not quite match up with the pitch of the sprockets. This would cause some popping sounds, the possibility of running out of the sprockets, and accelerated wear of the new sprockets and bushings due to mismatched wear surfaces(nice square sprocket tooth running against a rounded worn bushing). If you can swing it,it might be money well spent to turn the pins and bushings and replace the sprockets.
