Can not find a part number for the voltage regulator on my HD5. Parts book does not list it. Only the entire generator. Does anyone have the part number and a source to get the regulator?

It has a Delco Remy 12V generator. At least mine does. I believe repair & rebuild shops still can get the regulator. True the book only shows replacing the whole thing. See if yours can be repaired.
Mine quit working, or did not work when I got it, and I polarized it, by providing 12v from input to output (touched with a screwdriver) and it began to put out its 8 amp charge. If I let her sit up a while, I have to polarize it again. No big deal.

I've got an HD6 which is basically an HD5 with a different and bigger engine. Since my crawler has the Buda 344 engine is has a 24 volt electrical system. If your's is 24 volts, my parts book will probably have the numbers you need. If yours is 12 volt, I can't help.
