I have an Ih T340 Crawler Loader, with Drott bucket, and wonder what kind of job it is to replace an idler pin if I could find one. Any experience would help thanks.

I mean the pin through the front wheel, I'm not great with the terminology yet, the pin is broken and lets the wheel twist and the track falls off.

As I mentioned in the earier post, I have done that one too. Don't know if you could loosen the track with the adjuster and get the front idler off that way. I broke the track at the master pin and drove off; no big deal fortunately either with that or getting it back on (after rebuilding the whole bottom). But I suspect your idler hub will be warn and the seals shot if it's been wobbling. This will require some machine shop work, like maybe making an insert for the hub, overboring the old hole. The seals are another problem if things are warn, but I won't comment as my approach to that was weak.

The shaft is a .002 to .005 tight fit. I got the old one out by heating the bracket, and I got the new one in by doing that and running the shaft straight from my freezer. This is the top idler, not the front idler. If you're talking about the front idler, then the problem is probably also a warn hub, so you have to remachine some things to make it all work. I never got a good newer seal design for that one, but not worth taking it all apart again.

By idler pin do you mean the shaft that the top idler roller spins on? I need to replace mine if that's what you mean. I've always assumed that one could chill the pin and heat the hub, but I too would like to hear from others.
