I just called my designated driver, I don't hardly drink but nows a good time as ever. Seems like I can't find the track pin to lay down the track, I don't see anyone that has a hole like the book says and they all look itentical to me. The other side track pin is easy to see you can tell it's been in and out. What to do now ?
By the way thanks for the parts sources from the other post, I'll have to order soon.
To the guy that was thinking of buying a case 350 I would say that I would still buy mine again in a heartbeat, till my pesky nut dropped I was in dozer heaven. Oop's my ride is here, no more dozers for me today !

Maybe look on the inside of the track for the master pin.Could have been pounded so bad on the outside that the index isn't visible. Then again someone could have used a standard pin,in which case you have a 1 in 36 chance of finding it.

I think your right and they used a standard pin, the undercarriage is almost new, all the pins look the same. I'm thinking I might take a good nut and see if it will tighten up on the axle, if it does then I'll tack weld the nut in a couple spots. If it held till next time I would have to take the track off I would be happy. Otherwise being a builder I'll fab. a structure right over the track that I can use to lift and slide the complete track over. Do you know if I need to take off the whole final drive or is the axle replacable from the outside of the unit ?

The axle nut on my ATC 656 wouldn't stay tight and the axle threads were poor. I tack welded the nut on and lost the nut. It was taxing to file the axle threads, where the tacks were. I got a 2.25" 12 tpi nut from Fastenal. Had the nut cut in half in a lathe to reduce thickness. Torqued it as much as I could and welded it complete. It's been working for 15-20 hrs, some in deep wet clay.

I need an axle and service manual.

Also a service manual for a 59 Case 526. It just broke something and won't drive the left track and the left brake no longer has any effect.
