I love my 350 case dozer but it's been getting a little tougher, first the stripped rear axle. Since I don't have the parts yet I decided to tighten a few loose bolts, mainly the three which hold the final drive to the main frame. Well they must have been loose for years because the nuts are frozen tight to the bolts. There doesnt seem to be any wear or damage to the final drive, I don't know how that could be possible but I don't see any. Of course I can't break the nuts loose with my breaker bar, is it time for a torch, or do you guys have any ideas ?
thanks

heat them up stick a piece of wax toilet gasket to them the heat will draw the wax into the threads and they will come right off i learned that from an old timer

A nut splitter is much easier on the paint than a torch, if you can get at them easily. Washer-up above any damaged threads and you should at least be ok with the studs.

You might heat the nuts with your torch, then try taking them loose with the breaker bar. That usually does the trick. If not, I would split them with the torch, and take them off that way. But that is usually a last-ditch effort. Good luck!
