the main driveshaft from the pump broke right where the coupling threads (lefthand) to the shaft. I need the shaft and that half of the coupler.... can I weld it back together ?

Thanks for the info,
Tim

With a little time and measurements a power transmission supplier should be able to come up with the needed parts. They may come up with enough components to replace the entire shaft assembly. It can be made up with the proper flange,a piece of shafting and a lovejoy coupler. As a temporary measure, your shaft can be welded, but it will have to be dead straight or the wobble will either break the weld,or possibly take the bearings out of the pump.Another way to go would to have a machine shop make up a new shaft to match yours.Might also be a good idea to check that your pump isn't locked up,which could have broken the shaft in the first place.

The pump is free and tested good at a hydraulic repai shop. I went ahead and resealed it and am today going to my friendly machine shop to see if the shaft can be duplicated. The pump shop told me they could not do the shaft, I can't figure why a big shop like that would choose not to...

after speaking with Komatsu, the parts for the pump are not available (driveshaft) though the entire pump assembly is for $1131.00 OUCH :(

the coupler or clutch end is available for a mere $208.74 for the half or the entire for $653.32, the parts that are not available new is only the pulley.
