I need some advice and or info on Hydraulic cylinders.
I have a 440 icd with a rotary vein backhoe, I believe its a model 51 or 61, can't make out the first number. I need to replace the cylinder that moves the bucket. Its a big one, out side of housing measures 4.00 ram it self measures 2.250 pins on both ends are 1.250 length from center of bottom eye to top of cylinder is 36.00.
How much could it cost to have this one rebuilt?
would It be better to just get another one?
from where?
what do you recommend?

thanks

Scott, I just picked up my crowd cylinder from a rebuilder today. The end popped out past the snap ring and destroyed the tube. They replaced the tube and installed a threaded end cap. Total cost= $415.00. This was done at a "Ronco Engineering" machine shop in Winona, Minnesota. They only replace the bad parts. Good luck! Don

Try Your deere dealer, get your serial # and see whats available. Surprisingly an overhaul kit for a 450 dozer cylinder is $45. I don't know if your backhoe is the same but all 5 cylinders on a 450b dozer use the same rebuild kit. I was able to redo mine just following the parts book picture.
