I need a description of how the belts go onto the front of the motor on this thing.
The water pump and generator are running backwards.
The book I have shows a water pump with a pully with two groves, mine has one.
Also the one in the book looks like it has a shorter nose on it.

Help.....
thanks
scott in wa.

scott, The right pulley has 2 grooves and is specific to the JD machines engine. If you have a detroit pump from the detroit dealer it will have a pulley that is too far out to the front. The pump is driven by the crankshaft and the generator is driven by a belt in the second groove from the pump itself. I had a new pump bought for mine but had to switch the pulley. I don't believe the regular detroit pulley would have fit behind the fan schroud on mine 440.
