1960 440icd I just about got it ready to go for this weekend. (it has to be on the property, to tend the fires, fire department has to inspect it before we burn ). I put new thrust washers, mains, and rod bearings in yesterday. Drained all oils and replaced with new., what a messy job!! It took a while.I had to go down and get new Hydraulic hose for the backhoe. Took all the hoses off, about 15 of them, some were very long. Decided to go with Parker hoses, found a dealer and said make them just like these old ones. Came back about one hour later and looked at my bill, I saw $1,200. I about passed out. I looked a little closer; saw that it didn't include a 65 % discount, it came out to be about $540.00 for all the hoses on the hoe (still ouch). Put them on Friday, and they work great. They look sweet all were 5/8 O/D hose. Pretty happy with that old rotary vein, design, moves fast and stop quick., wasn’t quite sure because lots of people said they were not very good. But seems good, no leaks, no wondering. I need the bucket cylinder replaced or fixed and I’m done with the hoe. The water pump seems to be working after all, My temp gage was bad, had to put a new one in. Just about ready to put the front end back on and the hood. wow. what a job. still need to do some adjusting on the brakes and clutches but they do both work now. Id have to say pulling the track and the final drive was the biggest thing yet. (no cherry picker) it was heavy. anyway. thanks for all the help. Scott in wa.
