I want to remove the injection pump to have it serviced and need to turn the engine over to align the timing mark and TDC.
The service book says to "bar" the engine. How do you bar the engine?
The only thing I can think of is to remove the starter to gain access to the ring gear and then use a bar on the gear teeth.
There must be an easier way?
Any ideas from you will be much appreciated.

the side opposite from the starter. The timing cover. Unbolt it & flywheel gears are exposed. Bar it until timing hole lines up. Where is your service manual?
