Am changing out some pins / bushings on backhoe bucket & boom, I was able to hammer some out with old pins, but some won't move. Is a puller the right tool for this job? If so can anyone recommend a particular tool, or better yet want to sell one? :) They are 1.78" ID bushings. Thanks!
Jim

If your not concerned about saving them, then you can just make a few passes around the inside with a welder. This will shrink the bushings and with enough weld you can probably pull them out by hand, otherwise use a punch.

Jim, I use a hollow ram porta-power with a plate about the size of the bushing on one end and on the other use a heavy wall tube that will clear the
bushing ,set the porta power cyl on the tube with
a plate to protect the cyl base , use long threaded
rod (quality ) thru every thing and pull. 30 ton cyl will stretch 1 inch soft rod , it
becomes longer and some is 2 pieces. I use a 30 ton most of the time and a 75 ton when needed (both hollow ram ). Same system works to install the new bushings.
