440icd. Found a wrecking yard in Fife Wa. "County line" they carry many used parts to all tractors, its about 12 acres in size. I found a 440icd dozer that's about half gone. the Detroit was still in it, it was a late model crawler. I took the piece off bellow the water pump, It cost me $75 bucks, mine was cracked. I may buy the motor, it still had antifreeze in it. I bet it runs.I picked up my bucket cylinder hydraulic rod yesterday. I had a shop make me a new one. Its sweet. 2.250 dia. by 36.00 long, I put it in the housing and it works great. Its looks like I have a fully functional backhoe now. The new cylinder rod cost me $300 bucks. I put all new hoses on the hoe as well, $550.0 bucks worth. OUCH The cost of repairs on my old 440 are starting to climb fast. I bet I have a little over $2,600 into her now. The front end and hood as well as the belly pans should be back on tonight, unless something goes wrong and I have another road block to fix. I will be moving her out to my property Wednesday night, planning on working her sat and Sunday, but I'm sure something will go wrong . This has been one BIG freaking job, its has been fun, but things are a bit hard to get to, and most of the stuff is big and heavy, I need to buy a cherry picker. We have been working on this thing outside in the afternoon and its been about 90+ deg out so its been a killer. I think we have had heat stroke a few times this week. Tempers flare in that kind of heat, but no blood has been shed yet. hahaha thanks Scott in wa.
