Anybody out there figure out a good way to add aux huydraulics to a skidloader that didnt come with them? I would like to pick up an older used skidloader, but almost all the used ones dont have the aux hydraulic hookup that I would need for a round bale gripper

if its just on a bale grapple you could just use a solenoid valve plumbed into your loaders tilt lines. You just put it in front of the tee that splits your loaders tilt cylinder hoses. I use these on tractors and backhoes with closed or opencenter hydraulics to avoid running another line off the valve body. When you need the grapple you can hold the button down and when your operating the bucket and it actuates the grapple. I just did this for a thumb on a Case hoe. I think you can still pich up the solenoid valves from Surplus Center for 150 bucks.
If you get an older babcat your right hand travel stick should have an aux on it just the valve may be plugged off.

Mike the key words here are POWER BEYOND. They likely have an open center valve and if so, many can have a plug put into the passage for pump flow to the return so you can run it out through another Open Center Valve. The valve you add must have a return line TEE'D into the existing return line back to the tank. If your valve doesn't have this feature then you may be able to buy a GOOD QUALITY open center valve with power beyond and put it up stream of the existing valve. You will likely have to use a return tee'd into the other return line as well. Ask the dealer about this before you buy any make.

When you say power beyond basically you mean that when you are actuating the first valve the pressurized fluid will still be able to flow through the valve to the second valve? Just like when it is at open center?

Well not exactly Mike. Power beyond means that you tap the pump flow before it goes into the drain/return line and send it to another valve with out back feeding the return line. With open center valves they usually work in order of receiving pump flow as far as priority goes. That's no big deal, you will only be useing one valve at a time mostly any way. Email me and I can draw you some pic to help you understand what is happening.

Interesting question.... You are going to have to tap a source of constant pressure, plus install some type of 4-way valve & a convenient way to activate it. Unless a Manufacturer (Bobcat, NH, etc) has a kit for the model you find, I would suggest holding off until you find one that already has aux. hydraulics.
