So were you successful yet at getting
your machine operable? Reason I ask is
that on mine I noticed the left axle
nut is loose. Do you have any advice
of tightening it? Size? Torque ?
Whatever ? windancer@wwnet.net

Windancer,
So far so good, heres what I did,
I used a new nut and installed it without the washer. I used a big breaker bar and pushed the sprocket in as tight as I could while I installed the nut. I really can't tell you what I torqued it to, I just tightened it as much as I dared in fear of the nut slipping again. Welded the nut up solid to the shaft. I'm about 10 hr's into building a driveway and I don't think it's gonna give me any problems, although it is weeping a very small amount of oil around the nut.
This is my first paying job with the dozer and it's going great, it's nice to put the hammer and saw down every now and then. Good luck with your nuts,
Dirthog.
