Hi all

Just renewing the Cyl head gasket on my Leyland/Nuffield/BMC (depending on who you talk to) engined JCB.
Does anyone have the torque levels to reach on the studs when replacing and if there is any requirement for further torquing when engine is run and warmed up.

All help appreciated

G from Ireland

I'm also changing the head gasket on a 3d mark III. It has the 3.77 engine and a lot of hours.Dealer was unable to find the torque specs for the head. How did 80 ft/lbs work for your's? Only book I have is the operator's manual for the 3c & 3d mark III (wiring schematics included)

On the 3.8 engine if I remember correctly the head nuts torque was 80 ft/lbs,go over them in an X pattern starting with centre one and working out to each end,do them three times,I did not retighten any I done and had no bother.
