I have to take off a stabiliser cyl to rebuild it, and the problem is I can not remove or even budge the upper retainer pin, it is not seized to the cyl end but will not move in its gusset plates.
It is a case hardened pin and looks to be a very fine fit in its brackets,I have soaked it with all kinds of lubricants, even put a 10 ton enerpac on it to try to force it out, no luck, any help would be appreciated. Doug Thanks in advance.

Heat bosses with an acetylene torch untill red hot. Then quench with water till cold. May have to repeat procedure depending on how bad they are.

Thanks Steve, will give this a try when I have picked up some rental torches. Will this affect the strength of the bosses or change the physical steel structure in any way, not to up on this type of operation but will heed your advice and let you know on a future posting of my efforts. Thank you very much for the reply. God bless.
