Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about John Deere 350 - C or newer (wet clutch )models ? I am thinking about buying a track loader for farm clean up and lifting logs and lumber piles at a small saw mill . Are the 350 models heavy enough for the job ? Thanks in advance.

Tractor seat,

There is a lot of info on the other pages on this forum about these trators - good, bad and indifferent.

In my opinion the Deere 350's and 450's are great tractors. I use my 350C dozers for many different things and they have their place. My 450C loader/hoe/rippers is a great all around tractor. I can grade, load/move dirt, pick things up with the 4 in 1 bucket, dig trenches, dig stumps, rip etc... The 450 will handle a good size log and it's hard to say what size because there are a lot of factors that come into play. With the hoe on I can pick up and or carry a larger log than if the hoe was off. Going up/down & forwards/backwards is also a factor. I have picked up approx 36" by 20' long green Oak. The 350 bucket is smaller than the 450 and the standard bucket VS. the 4/1 is night and day, although you can still do a lot without the 4/1. If you don't mind the disadvantages of a crawler I think a 350 would work good around a farm and a small mill. The 350 will handle logs and move your lumber around. Good luck, Mark
