after about 5 minutes of operation, it will lock down like there is something binding up and stopping the machine completely. its still trying to pull but its not going to move. If you kill it for about 5 minutes, it'll go again for about 5 more minutes and stop again. the tracks have slack in them but it wont move. shift from hi to low and back again and its like there something in the final drives that wont let it move. and help is appreicated. thanks, david

If it's a Deere 550G, the first thing I would check are the automatic adjusters on the brakes, they can be accessed through plugs in the trans case bove each final drive and are similar to the adjusters for drum brakes on a pickup. I have seen a 450G overadjust and act as you describe.

See what the other guy wrote...self adjusters may be a little out of adjustment or someone gopt their hands in there.....remove the largest plug on either side of the transmission case....just above the sprockets...1/2 " drive breaker bar usually works...there are star wheel type adjusters in there...machine has to be running with the park brake off (lever raised) to adjust..back off each adjuster a few clicks at a time and check operation..can be a little loose when cold...cause when the clutch drums heat up they expand and then you get the problem you have..
