Going to rebuild the swing cylinders on a 510 backhoe. Can't get the pins out of the cylinders to remove them. Anyone taken these out?

I've always rebuilt the swing cylinders while stillin the machine. They will stay well supported while removing the packing nut and no fighting with the pins.

I remember 510's having alot of pins retained with those tapered bushings that are such a joy to remove...if this is the case...what tends to work to remove those tapered bushings is a multitude of strong blows to the side of the protruding part of the bushing with a large punch and sledge hammer...If you strike them from the side it tends to use the taper of the pin and bushing to force the bushing outward...
