Working on a D7E with a D339 engine. Crankshaft moves back and forth about a inch or so. The main thrust bearing is bad and worn into the crank. I know there must have been a hard push forward on the crank but how could the torque converter do this? Going to fix the engine so I need to find out what is pushing forward on the crank. If any of you guys have any ideas I would be very greatful to hear them. Thanks Joe

Joe, tear the Torque Divider apart and rebuild it. You will find it has come loose inside. It happens some times. Also make sure the bearing on the trans input shaft is solid.
