Greetings, I have just come across this forum.
I have been offered a IH TD14F dozer, 1953
It has a 12ft blade and big winch.
the price is $2500 Australian..ie $1250 US.
it is on a farm 5 miles from mine, it has been used lightly by the farmer for 10years. he spent
ony $200 on it all that time. he said it has always started easily except the last 2 times,
needed Aerostart. Can anyone tell me more or give Net sites?? I like to research equipment first,
I am restoring a '43 GMC six-wheeler at the moment. I want the dozer to clear trees make roads, site level and dig dams. He said i could probably drive it 5 miles to my farm, is that ok?
I know modern hydraulic driven track motors dont
like being wheeled far..i think this thing has a dif? i will inspect it soon. I think it weighs
10-12 tonnes, and would neen a low loader and prime mover to move otherwise. my knowledge of
such equipment is very limited at the moment

Move it slowly nothing wears track more then
high speed moving, is it a gas or diesal??
they always say that 1/3 the price of a track machine is in the undercarrage alone!!

Tony if you do try to walk it home then take some time and go thru all the lube points and make sure all the oil levels are topped off. Take it slow and have fun,,,,Mike

$1250, thats like free. You could probably
melt down the 12 tons and get $1250 for the
metal :)

And, if he thinks it will go 5 miles,
that means everything is probably working
pretty good. I don't think there is
any problem with running it that far, same
as going back and forth working on a dam
for a couple hours. I wouldn't put
it in fourth gear and try to make the track
fly off though :)
