Buying an ASV RC60 - any thoughts versus Bobcat?

I'm probably going to buy an ASV machine in the next couple of months and I wanted to hear any feedback you people can provide. We have a horse farm in western Washington, and the primary uses of the machine would be to maintain old logging roads converted into riding trails by constructing and cleaning out drainage ditches and moving material to firm up wet spots. We will also be using the machine to move logs and beams to construct jumps and to deal with firming up muddy areas that the horses tear up while jumping.

We currently have a JD5510 with a front loader and a 10A backhoe. We've used the tractor to do a lot of clearing of Alder off of old logging roads and for putting in drainage culverts, but we have often run into trouble with the tractor churning the ground into soup and creating more of a mess than it solves and also with its lack of maneuverability when surrounded by a forest.

My questions are:
1) does anybody here have experience with the RC60 and perhaps the ability to compare it to the RC85 or RC100? The RC60 is more appealing to me because of its small size and maneuverability, but I wonder if anyone could comment on it's capacity to move material relative to the JD5510 that I am familiar with (ie how will I feel about its loader capacity for moving dirt or about its capacity in terms of moving trees with a grapple?).
2) Can anyone comment on how the ASV machines compare to Bobcat machines like the T190 or T250 in terms of useability or maintenance issues?
3) We are going to own this machine for a very long time and so I wil have a long time to regret making the wrong choice of a machine - if I get an RC60 am I going to regret not having the additional capacity of the RC85 or RC100, or if I get an RC100 am I going to be annoyed by its larger size and wish that I had a smaller more nimble machine when working in the forest?
4) Can anybody comment on the pushing capacity of these machines using a 6-way blade? I know the older ASV machines had frame mounted dozer blades, while the newer machines mount solely to the loader arms - Is this new setup sturdy enough or is it likely to put too much stress and wear on the loader arms?

I would also love to hear any horror stories of experiences with ASV equipment so I know what the worst case scenarios are like.

Thanks for any help,
Mark

Mark,
I am in Western Washington and love my ASV MD-70. They go where you can't walk, great carrying capacity-go where bobcats only dream. I bought a low hour md-70s as I also didn't want to make a mistake...figured for the price, I could test drive it for awhile. Liked it so much I bought another. I use to mow, dig, drag trees out of the muck...etc. I haven't put many hours on them but I see alot of >2000hr machines out there. I am almost thru with my big projects and will be selling one in awhile -I really don't need two...never did..but sure is handy to have one with the backhoe on it while I use the other as a loader. I have also received great support from ASV in Minn. I found this post because I am looking for a frame mounted dozer to put on it. Derek

Have you had any responses? I, too, am considering an ASV machine and would appreciate if you would share what you've learned.

Thanks,
Tom
