Welding on a D6 9U Track Screw

My track screw is broke on a D6 9U what is the best welding rod to weld this screw back together with, I do have some 7018 rods would this rod work? Thanks for the help. Michael/WV

i have done a fair bit of welding on my d6 9u which i have feature on redpower under TD6 9U REPAIRS, i use the licoln excalibre 7018, very good rods for the money, just make sure it is clean and warm, thanks

thansk for following along on what we do in the great white north. i have been busy with other projects, (td-6 from the double j adventure and cleaning the yard up) but once the snow flys and i'll be back in the shop working on the BISMARK. is there anything you would like me to post for you. thanks
